a cHaIR foR A sTAr!!

This is the first chair that I have done that has not been for a child.  It was so much fun! I had many issues with it along the way but it ended up fabulous! I was actually tempted to tell them something happened and I wouldn't be able to deliver (not really)! I really wanted to keep it though!!

The chair was ordered for Estrella (Star) Longoria by her mom, Angel.  Star graduated this year from Mason and is attending college in San Marcos.  Star is a singer, and from what I hear, a fabulous one. The special touch I was able to put on the chair was her autograph!  Her mom sent me her signature and I was able to duplicate it on the back of the chair.

So, thank you so much Angel for giving me this opportunity to create a chair for your special girl.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this seat!!!

Shopping carts in junkyards???

Today I went to Brady to get some paints and was going to run by my grandparents to pick up my 68 Chevy tailgate I was buying from the Brady Recycling Center.  He hadn't picked it up yet so we ran out there together to get it and see what other goodies I could find. I had some little things in mind!! We asked the guy if we could walk around and look and he said sure and told me where to park.  When we walked back up he was standing there with a shopping cart!! Really?? I couldn't help but just bust out laughing and actually, the laughing continued until we left!  Now, I go enough places with my grandfather to know that he likes to push the basket because it gives him better balance (plus, I was still laughing too hard to push).  So away we went!  My grandaddy is 84 years old and when he has his little better balance basket in Wal-Mart or HEB, that man can move.  He doesn't browse or waste any time.  He zooms down the aisles and takes corners on two wheels.  It was pretty much the same way at the junkyard!!  I would be looking at something and turn around and he was gone!  I'd hunt him down, look at something and he was gone again.  Now I'm laughing not only because I know I now I have a sEriOus jUnkIn addiction, since we are pushing a shopping cart around but I'm also laughing at the fact that my grandaddy is a nut job! I hope I can move like that at 84.  Now that man is on a mission!  I'm pretty sure the men working there thought we had gone nuts!  Oh well!  It was absolutely the highlight of my day!

Oh, and as for the awesome tailgate (yes, tailgates can be awesome), they didn't have time to take it off today.  Grandaddy will zoom out there again tomorrow and hopefully pick it up for me.

Fun chairs for the kiddos!

Here are my two kiddo chairs that I've completed.  Both only about a foot off the ground.  These were once old orange school chairs I found out junkin'. They got a much needed facelift with some handpainted designs!!

Enjoy.

The hippie chair!!

I'm working on a custom order chair for a college student, but can't share those pictures yet!! Soon though!

The latest of my projects was re-puposing a door into a table! I bought the door a while back and my grandaddy constructed the base for it.  The legs were actually taken from a house where they were used as a divider between the kitchen and living room.  I've had this table for so long but just decided what color to paint it.  This seems to be my biggest problem, deciding what color to paint things.  I love all colors and to narrow it down to just one, maybe two, is hard!!!

Here's a few other fun finds with the table!!!

Just love my pink cactus!!!

nOt mY cUP OF tEa!!!

Well, this blogging thing is proving to be not really my thing.  I know I need to do it but it seems I just never have time to do it!  My goal:  to get better at this!  I must start blogging about my projects; before, during and after and my adventures along the way!!! Let see if that works!!! Good luck to me!

The little things are big things!!

The things that you don't think about at first when getting to have a booth at a sale or a store start popping up later.  I'm thinking about signs and all the goodies for the booth and then realize I need price tags!!!! I need to have my business cards printed!!!! And on and on and on.  But it is FUN FUN FUN!!!

So, since I like eCLecTIc!!! I wanted a variety of price tags hung from the items with fun and different ribbon.  So, here are 3 that I designed (more to come).  And no, there is no price on them.  I will print them blank and write the price on them.
I love this one!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!

Vintage cowgirls are so fun!

This one is just ok.  It may not make the final cute!!

And...SCP business card. I love how it turned out!
Next, is the actual booth.  I'm really wanting a tent that has a cIRcuS look to it!! Like an "under the big top" feel!!  What do you think???

I get to go to a BARN SALE!!! whoop whoop!!!

I am so excited to be able to post about the Rusted Gingham Barn Sale that I get to attend in November in Gonzales, TX!!! I follow these gals on fb and was excited to see their post about accepting applications for the barn sale.  But honestly, I thought, I will apply but probably wont be picked.  I was!! So excited.  Lots and lots to do before November!!!

Here is their link so you can go check them out!

And...I get to put this adorable little button on my blog that says "I"M A VENDOR"!!!

Thanks everyone who supports me and has helped me with this adventure.  A big thanks to all my family who shops, sands, glues, fixes and deals with all my crazy ideas!!!

SCP's second, first blog post!

I would like to say that this is my first blog post for SCP, but it's not.  I had another blog that somehow got deleted.  I say somehow, but I know it was my fault.  I know this because I am not good at computers.  I have a way of making them mess up and doing things I have no intention of doing.  Like deleting an entire blog.  Oh well.  Get to start over.  Which is actually a good thing!  My other blog had posts about the name blocks I made, but since I have sort of revamped SCP, I guess a revamped blog will do too!  I'm really enjoying painting!!! I have found that painting furniture and signs and re-purposing other fab finds is more my "tHiNG".
child size hiPPy cHaIR!!(12 in from floor to seat)
I'm also really enjoying the "JUNK'N" I've decided to add to SCP.  And I know my mom has as well.  She was my shopper this weekend and found awesome goodies and at great prices. (Thanks mom)!!!
An oldie but a goodie! Awesome clock!!

Twin size headboard and footboard with some odd but interesting design.  This will not be painted but will remain just as it is.

Chalk covered wagon wall decor.  This will be cleaned up before being sold.  Dirt dobber nest not included!!!!

ONE OF MY FAV's!!! I debated on if I should repaint and decided on no.  I loved it just as it was maybe someone else will too!
Below is just one of my signs I have made but have a growing list of others to make.
Some of my other goodies I have found out running around or up in our barn.
Cant wait to get started on this chair!

Finds in our barn!! (This was not all)
